Help for Researchers
North Down Museum is committed to making all its collections accessible. However, limitations of resources and the need to protect fragile material mean that the Museum cannot meet all requests. Priority is given to serious researchers and to those who can demonstrate a special interest in the material in question. Access to the collections is generally not granted to anyone under 18.
If you wish to view material in the collections, please provide as much notice as possible and give as much detail as you can about the material you wish to view. This will enable us to reserve work space and staff time for your visit.
You are welcome to take study photographs of objects, but will be required to sign a form assigning copyright to the Museum. The Museum can supply publication quality photographs (please ask for details).
Research appointments are available Monday–Friday only.
