The photographic archive records the ever changing landscape of the local area from the 19th century to the present. It consists of various photographs, negatives, glass plates and slides with a North Down connection.
The range of subject matter is a fascinating glimpse into the past, from old shopfronts and buildings to seaside and holiday activity, and special occasions such as royal visits to the Borough or the annual May Day event in Holywood.
The number of images continues to grow as people generously donate old photos no longer wanted or needed in their family. If you have images you think might be of interest for our archive, please read the information on donating an object to North Down Museum and contact us.
