Children and Families
We run a variety of activities and events for children and families at weekends and special holiday times of year. Regular 'Crafty Kids' workshops offer opportunities for children to make simple crafts relevant to the time of year, and a full week of activities takes place in the summer for more complex workshops. We celebrate Easter Monday, Archaeology Day, Hallowe'en and other anniversaries with games and activities that run throughout a whole day.
Information about all these events and activities will be available on the North Down Museum website in our What's On section, and you can also get this information direct to your inbox by signing up to our Museum newsletter.
If you have a budding archaeologist in your household, then why not put their name down on the waiting list for the Little Diggers archaeology club? Little Diggers is a free after school club for 8 – 11 year olds which meets on the last Wednesday of the month from 3.30pm – 4.30pm. Using objects from North Down Museum, some of which aren’t on public display, club members learn more about history and archaeology in a hands-on way, handling artefacts and creating their own versions in craft sessions. To add your child's name to the waiting list, contact the Museum reception.
