1940's Nostalgia Gallery

Recently the museum opened a new small exhibition space called the Nostalgia Gallery.
The objects and themes in this gallery change periodically over the year in order to highlight as many local stories as possible, it is now the turn of the 1940’s.
The 1940’s were largely defined by the Second World War and, although the war ended in 1945, the consequences of hardship lingered on.
Come along and see some icon items and local images from that decade, curated by Zoe McFerran.
The museum is always on the lookout for interesting stories so please contact us if you have images or objects you would like to lend or donate.
