A Brush with Nature Exhibition

This exhibition features paintings by Artist Rong-Gen Yin. They range from detailed landscapes in traditional style – Gongbi, where intricate brushstrokes shape meticulously coloured landscapes, which can include narrative themes – to Shui-mo, the more fluid depiction of plants, birds and animals using bold brushstrokes in ink and watercolours.

Displayed are beautiful paintings exquisitely mounted on Chinese silk brocade, as hanging scrolls or in traditional frames. In addition, a number of fascinating Chinese artefacts from North Down Museum’s Jordan Collection highlight the exquisite craftsmanship used by Chinese artists then and complement the work of current artists such as Rong-Gen Yin.
