Our Borough's Rich Maritime History

As part of Council’s PEACE IV: Connecting Communities Programme, North Down Museum is pleased to exhibit this Maritime Heritage exhibition. This exciting programme enabled communities across seven villages along the Peninsula to develop and tell their maritime heritage story according to the people who live there.

From the Georgetown Victory to the Eagle Wing, Donaghadee harbour from the 1820’s to the Skulmartin Lightship, the rich maritime heritage of the Peninsula is celebrated and recorded.

A project supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
